In mid-April, we took a peek at our winged residents and… we have good news!
There are already eight bee colonies buzzing around The Park Warsaw – and most of them are really not idling. Hives 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 11 are bustling with activity, so they’ve been given extra bodies so they can grow and do their springtime bee magic in peace.
A little weaker is the colony from hive 9 – it’s still a little lethargic, but has been supported with brood frames from hive 11. It’s a kind of bee version of a solid energy boost.
And since spring is not only about flowers, but also about dangers – we administered oxalic acid to all the hives to protect our bees from varroa – a very dangerous parasite.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for their immunity and continued growth!
